Suite Life at The Omnia

The third stop on our honeymoon tour of Switzerland was to The Omnia in the small ski town of Zermatt which is a 3 hour drive from Lugano. The official season in Zermatt kicks off just after Christmas which means we were there a few weeks too early for major activities BUT on the bright side we missed the crowds they amass during peak season.

Fun fact: Zermatt does NOT allow cars in the town- if you arrive by car you have to park in nearby Tasch and take either a taxi or the train to the entrance of Zermatt which takes no more than 15 minutes. Once you’re in town you can either walk to your accommodations or get picked up in a motorized cart like we did thanks to The Omnia.

The Omnia is a 5 star hotel and truly the gem of this small town. I can’t imagine going back to Zermatt and not staying at The Omnia with its prime location and stunning views. Everything about our stay was perfect from the welcome beverages to the James Bond cave entrance to the friendly staff. Special thanks to Rebecca at the reception desk for taking such amazing care of us and giving us some amazing suggestions for dinners, activities, shopping, etc. Always make friends with the hotel staff and they’ll spill the details of their favorite local spots! We took Rebecca up on all her suggestions and she was spot on each time.

The Omia has only 30 rooms and 12 of which are suites. We were lucky enough to stay in one of their gorgeous suites with 2 massive balconies and views that are out of this world. Can I honeymoon every vacation from now on please?! My photos of the stunning mountains we saw every day from our room will 100% not do it any justice but I can try, right? Just imagine waking up to this every morning!

Like I said our room was a suite which has a separate living room with a large shared balcony, 2 bathrooms and a big bedroom with a private balcony. Each morning they put out fresh fruit, cakes and water which we loved. The bourbon is also complimentary in the room but unfortunately for me I’m a vino girl.

Waking up each morning to see the freshly snow covered mountains in the distance was unlike anything I’ve ever experienced. I feel so fortunate to just have stayed at this hotel in these surroundings!

When can I file for a permanent residence at The Omnia? My bags are packed!

As someone who travels for a living I really appreciate when a hotel has luxurious bathroom amenities and finding Aesop products made me so happy. The two bathrooms in our suite were so cozy I only wish I had more time to take a bubble bath while looking out at the mountains!

This hotel honestly has it all and there is no way I can compile my thoughts into just one post… you should see the amount of photos we took here! In my next post I’ll share with you my favorite part of this hotel: THE POOL! Just when you thought the views couldn’t get any better, The Omnia has a indoor/outdoor pool and jacuzzi with the Matterhorn in the background!! It still doesn’t look real to me. I’ll also have another upcoming post all about the town of Zermatt- where we ate, attempting to hike to the Matterhorn, sipping drinks on the terrace at The Omnia, etc… Stay tuned!
